Exhibiting or selling your art

Are you an artist with unique art to share with the local community in Rusholme, Manchester? We are excited to partner with artists who would like to share or sell their art at our shop or exhibition space.

Themes we are excited about

  • Middle Eastern, South Asian, or North/East African culture or landscapes

  • Reflections on diaspora, immigration, refugees, cultural identities

  • Community and family

  • Life in Manchester, the Curry Mile, Rusholme

  • Arabic or other Middle Eastern Calligraphy (non-religious)

  • Christian

  • Mental health

Sorry we probably won't accept western rural landscapes or overtly religious art. The Alexandria Library reserves the right to select the art being displayed and sold at our shop according to our ethos.

Exhibiting your art

The space

Exhibitions may take place on all wall spaces on our shop floor. It'll be visible to visitors on the Curry Mile. Feel free to visit our space (open Mon-Sat 12-8pm) to take a look or talk to our staff. Or you may view the photos of our Facebook page to see some of our past exhibitions.

Time frame

Typically an exhibition lasts for 2 months.

Format

  • Canvas or frame art (please provide frames or print on foamex)

Arrangement

  • If you're interested, we'd love to hear from you! Please email us at hello@alexandrialibrary.co.uk and provide an online sample or social media profile of the art you like to exhibit beforehand for selection. We will let you know the upcoming available slots in our calendar.

  • For the installation, we recommend using 3M removable strips, and the artist will be expected to provide them and carry out the installation.

  • The artist may also organize an open house evening for the launch of the exhibition.

Selling your art
