Sorry we do not usually accept overtly religious or political art. The Alexandria Library reserves the right to select the art being displayed and sold at our shop according to our ethos.

Exhibiting your art
The space
Exhibitions may take place on all wall spaces on our shop floor. It'll be visible to visitors on the Curry Mile. Feel free to visit our space (open Mon-Sat 12-8pm) to take a look or talk to our staff. Or you may view the photos of our Facebook page to see some of our past exhibitions.

Our main wall space is approx. 4.8m long, about 1.4m tall. You are also welcome to use the horizontal shelf surface underneath (also 4.8m long) to display your art.

Time frame & hiring costs
£60 / week (1 week = Mon-Sat 12-8pm only. The space is closed on Sundays.)
£105 / 2 weeks
An exhibition may last for a maximum of 2 months.​

Installation

A movable system of hanging hooks is provided.

If artists choose to use other methods of hanging, we recommend using 3M removable strips, and the artist will be expected to provide them and carry out the installation.

Arrangement

The artist is expected to promote the exhibition themselves, while we may also help by posting on our social media.

Optional: the artist may also organize an open house evening for the launch of the exhibition (£45 per 3 hours).

Selling your art
​
Formats
Your art can be sold in any of the following formats:

Framed wall art or canvas

Posters
-
postcards

greeting cards (please provide envelopes)

merchandises (such as notebooks, apparel, bags, coasters, mugs etc.)

Consignment
We are happy to discuss the retail prices to make sure the artists are happy with them. Typically, the artists set the base prices for each item, and we mark it up by a certain percentage (usually 20-25%). Payments are processed every 3 months.
