Ramadan Fasting & prayer Guide with reflection questions

A Weekly Ramadan Guide

Week 1🔹 Heart & Sincerity

Reflection Questions

  • What does God see when He looks at my heart?

  • Is my fasting changing me on the inside?

  • Am I closer to God — or just more disciplined?

  • Who am I when I am alone before God?

  • Am I fasting from food — but not from sins and pride?

Sincere prayer to God

“God, You see what no one else sees.
If my heart is not clean, change it.
If my fasting is only outward, show me.
If there is pride, hidden sin, or divided motives in me, reveal it gently.
I do not want only discipline — I want to be right with You.
Create in me a clean heart.”

Week 2🔹 Mercy & Effort

Reflection Questions

  • What if I need more than good deeds?

  • Is God’s mercy greater than my failures?

  • Am I trusting my performance — or His compassion?

  • Do I believe God really forgives?

  • What does it mean to depend on God fully?

Sincere prayer to God

“God, I may trust my good deeds more than I admit.
If I need more than good works, help me understand why.
If Your mercy is greater than my failures, help me believe it.

I confess that I do not always know how forgiveness works.
I do not know how justice and mercy meet.

If You justify the humble and resist the proud, make me humble.
If I must come to You empty-handed, teach me how.

Have mercy on me.
Not because I deserve it —
but because You are compassionate.

Lead me away from self-reliance.
Lead me toward truth.”

Week 3🔹 Fasting & compassion

Reflection Questions

  • Does my fasting affect how I treat others?

  • Am I more patient — or just hungry?

  • Is my kindness growing during Ramadan?

  • Is justice part of my worship?

  • Would God see compassion in my actions?

Sincere prayer to God

“God, I want my worship to be real.
If my fasting has become only habit or tradition, show me.
If I am serious about prayer but careless with people, correct me.
Search my life and show me where I ignore injustice or hold onto pride.

If You care about the poor, the weak, and the oppressed, help me care too.
If my heart is divided, make it whole.

Reveal to me what true worship looks like in Your eyes.
I do not want to honour You with my lips while my actions contradict my faith.
Change me from the inside out.”

Week 4🔹 Relationship With God

Reflection Questions

  • Do I truly know God — or only know about Him?

  • Is my fasting leading to deeper relationship?

  • If God wants to speak to me today, am I listening?

  • Have I asked Him to guide me and reveal Himself to me?

  • What if God desires more than ritual?

Sincere prayer to God

“God, I may know many things about You, but I am not sure if I truly know You.
If You desire relationship and not only ritual, teach me what that means.

If I have been practicing religion without closeness to You, open my eyes.
If You are speaking, help me to recognise Your voice.

I admit sometimes I am unsure what is true.
If Jesus’ words are truly from You, show me.
If You want me to trust You more deeply, give me courage.

Reveal Yourself to me in truth.
I want more than information — I want to know You.”

Week 5🔹 Peace & Assurance

Reflection Questions

  • Do I have peace with God?

  • Can I be sure my fasting is accepted?

  • What gives me confidence before God?

  • When I stand before Him, what will matter most?

  • What is the foundation of my hope?

Sincere prayer to God

“God, I long for peace with You, but I am not sure where that peace comes from.
Sometimes I hope my good deeds are enough.
Sometimes I worry they are not.

If I am relying on my performance instead of Your mercy, show me.
If forgiveness is something You truly offer, help me understand it.

I do not want to live with quiet fear about where I stand before You.
If real assurance is possible, lead me to it.

If Jesus truly gives acceptance and not rejection, reveal that to my heart.
If there is a foundation stronger than my own effort, help me stand on it.

Give me truth, not illusion.
Give me peace that is real.
I seek You honestly — guide me.”

Thank you

... for taking time to reflect and pray through this guide. If you have prayed honestly and asked God to reveal His truth, God promised He will always answer (Jeremiah 33:3). That is not a small thing for God.
